Video's That Have Influenced Me

After much consideration, I have now come up with two potential idea's for my final product. Both completely differing, but both very enticing for different reasons. These three music video's have influenced me ever so slightly, but I have managed to take small aspects, and used them to my advantage in creating my own two music video idea's.

The first is Ben Pearce's 'What I might do',

I have taken from this the idea of using multiple actors in my video, as I like the idea of having variety of age, gender and race. I especially like the simplicity aspect of the video, how the director has quite frankly said 'just dance'. Alongside these features, I also admire the interview/audition like process right at the very start and end of the video. This concept alone really appeals to me, as it is ever so different, which is of course what I want mine to be!

The second has got to be Route 94's 'My Love'

The clip attached is a quick snippet from the official music video, just to give a better understanding.

Although highly sexual and strange, this video is very clever with it's use of a thermal camera, as it makes the whole overall concept of the video much more enticing. Another  reason why I appreciate this video is how it starts and ends with the main actor in full colour. It is almost as if when the actor and camera change into the thermal setting, the actor changes. He is seen to be walking around the nightclub in a drunken manor, and as soon as it switches back to full colour, he switches to his normal sober self. An extremely simple concept, but highly effective.

'Rhymes' by Hannah Wants is my third influential video so far.

Again, this video is also excessively sexual, posing many sexual innuendo's to the viewer, whether it be having the actress eat a certain food in a slow and seductive manor, or be it having her touch the insides of an orange! This aside, I cannot help but admire how the video has been shot and set out overall.

'Touch it, watch it, turn it, bring it babe
Turn it watch it babe
Watch it, turn it, leave it stop for a minute'

Above are the basic lyrics of the song, and this just repeats itself, meaning that for each instruction viewers see a visual representation of what is being said. Again, although very repetitive, it is really intriguing and grabs it's audience's attention in the right way.
